After having won the IBJ’s Innovative Technology award, the nemaX® now has been awarded with the Red Dot Award. An award generally awarded to consumer products on the cutting edge of innovative design. Previous product design winners have included the iPhone, the BMW 5 series and the GoPro Hero. This is the first time in history that an industrial grab has received this internationally acclaimed distinction. The expert jury was won over by the outstanding design quality exemplified in the innovative NemaX concept.
Higher productivity, lower maintenance
The patented NemaX is the most productive grab on the market, increasing the entire productivity of a dry bulk terminal by at least 10%. Its optimised closing mechanism helps it close 20% faster, facilitates ergonomic maintenance at safe heights, and reduces spillage. The NemaX has 70% less moving parts and the lowest maintenance costs on the market.
TU Delft partnership
To create this NemaX Nemag entered into a partnership with TU Delft. Michel Corbeau, General Manager at Nemag: “We are very proud that the NemaX is the first grab to win a Red Dot Award. Multi-award winner
Dating back to 1955, the Red Dot Award is presented in several categories, including product design and communication design. In 2018, designers and manufacturers from 59 countries submitted more than 6,300 objects to the competition. The Red Dot Award is not the only recognition conferred on the nemaX. Its solid technology and ground-breaking design also brought it to the attention of International Bulk Journal, a leading trade publication that presented the grab with the Innovative Technology Award 2017.
Winning designs showcased internationally
The NemaX grab will be featured in the Red Dot Design Yearbook 2018/2019, which showcases all of the year’s winning products. In addition, the winners will be prominently profiled in the Online Exhibition, in the Red Dot App and on Red Dot 21.
